"Journey of a Lifetime" 7th , 8th and 9th March 2008
Tickets for this show will be going on sale on Saturday 26th January at St Williams Church Hall from 10.00 am and after that will be available at all classes. Prices are £9.00 (adults) and £7.00 (concessions Senior Citizens and children under 16 years). Cheques should be payable to "The Bluebell School of Dance Charity Account" and tickets should be paid for when ordered. If your child is in "First Steps" ballet through to Primary Ballet they will not normally be performing at every performance so please check the notice board or the web site to see which performance they are in. All grades from "First Steps Grade 1 (inclusive) are only in the first half of the show and therefore if you wish them to see the second half you must purchase a ticket for them. The rules of the The Brook Theatre are that no children will be allowed into the auditorium without a ticket. If you have children under 3 years who you wish to bring you must inform our Box Office staff and they will obtain free "baby" tickets (however the children will need to sit on your lap)
Due to the ever-increasing costs of providing costumes we will be charging a minimal hire charge of £5.00 per pupil for 1 to 3 costumes and £10.00 per pupil for 4 or more costumes. This hire charge will only effect from Grade 1 upwards (not "First Steps", Pre-Primary or Primary). The average cost of costumes across the School is approximately £70 £80.00 per pupil. For some senior pupils it can be well over £100.00 and not all of the costs can be covered by ticket money and fundraising. If costumes are damaged or lost or not returned by the required date the full cost of the costumes will be charged.
If the hire cost is a problem to anyone, please let me know as we do not wish to exclude any children from the show for financial reasons.
Our Photographer John Hall will be available to take photos on Saturday 1st March at St Williams Church Hall. On that day we will be having a full days rehearsal and you will be able to have photos taken at any time. Please be aware that this will be the only opportunity as John will not be at the Dress Rehearsal on Thursday 6th March. Most costumes will be available on that day. Photos will be £10.00 for an 8 x 6 ". Arrangements can be made for family groups and multiple photos.
There will be DVDs available of all performances of the production and I will be sending out order forms prior to the show dates. If any parent has any objection to having their child filmed, then they must speak with me asap. No personal videography or photography is allowed in the theatre.
The main rehearsals outside of normal classes will be on Saturday 1st March at St Williams Church Hall Walderslade and Thursday 6th March at "The Brook Theatre", Chatham. Both rehearsals are important but it is imperative that ALL pupils attend on Thursday 6th as it will be their only opportunity to rehearse on stage. Please check the notice board/web site for details of times to attend. We do not intend to keep young children (ie "First Steps Grade 1) any longer than necessary and they will be called for specific times early in the evening.
School Logo Items
We would like all pupils attending the Theatre to wear items which identify them to the School. These are available on order from Sue/Andy please ask us for details

Pupils should bring all of their costumes to both of the above rehearsals including correct tights, socks and shoes as appropriate. For details of costumes please see Notice Board or Journey of A Lifetime Page. For hairstyles also please see notice board or Journey of a Lifetime page. No make-up is required at the Saturday rehearsal but should be worn for the main rehearsal at The Brook Theatre on Thursday 6th March. Details of make-up will be discussed on Saturday. Please wear School logo shirts or pink cardigans with leotard and black trousers or jazz pants to rehearsal/performance and please ensure that all items of clothing are named
Pupils should arrive at the theatre between 7.00 pm and 7.15 pm on Thursday and Friday and between 3.30 and 3.45 pm on the Sunday. Chaperones will only be available from 30 minutes before the show. Parents should sign their children in to the appropriate dressing room and then leave them with the chaperones. You should not collect your child until the interval and they must be signed out of the dressing room. We take enormous care to ensure the safety of all our children and therefore request that you follow our instructions. If your child has a problem or is upset we will contact you quickly. If you wish to help chaperone on an evening when you are not watching we would welcome your help
